You'll feel right at home when you step into this spacious living area with a cozy pellet fireplace and big windows that let the sunlight flood in.  It can get a little chilly in the mountains, so after a day on the lake or the slopes, make yourself some coffee, stoke the fire, settle into the comfy couch, and wait for the call to dinner. If it's warm, outside, you'll find it easy to relax on the porch in the backyard. There's also an outdoor fire pit for s'mores and good times under the stars!  This beautiful, modern cabin is located near Cascade, in Smith's Ferry, just an hour north of Boise and just across the Payette River (east) from the historic Cougar Mountain Lodge Restaurant. Also nearby is the Cougar Mountain snowmobile parking lot, a local hidden gem.

Smiths Ferry , ID , United States

This amazing cabin is located in Smiths Ferry on the gently sloping hills behind (east) of Cougar Mountain Lodge Restaurant.  Miles of recreation trails, snowpark and the Payette River out the front door. Amazing forest and valley views.

If you're staying in for dinner, the modern kitchen is ready to help the chef in you whip up just about anything you'd like. Pop something in the microwave, or prep your way to a great meal with plenty of pots, pans, utensils and a dishwasher for easy clean up.

You'll be walking distance to the river, if you want to go rafting, swim or fish. The Cougar Mountain Lodge Parking Lot is where the famous Cabarton rafting trip bus picks up folks in the morning and is where you'll finish your rafting adventure in the afternoon. Bring up your snowmobiles and park your trailers at the nearby snow park and ride some epic country.

20 minutes north, the town of Cascade features magnificent Lake Cascade, Payette National Forest, the Middle Fork of the Payette River, boutique shops, a grocery store, a movie theater, a workout facility, an olympic-sized hot springs-fed pool (covered in the the winter time for year-round access), a white water park and much more. Whether you're having fun around the outdoor fire pit, enjoying a meal using the gas barbecue grill on the patio, or just relaxing by watching a movie, your stay is certain to be comfortable and memorable.
This single level family and group-friendly lodge also has a washer, dryer and readily available amenities for kids, such as a high chair and a pack and play (please request these well in advance to ensure they'll be onsite).

There is parking for 2 trucks in the driveway. An additional 2 trucks can park down at the bottom of the driveway. Trailers and RVs are not easy to park at the home so we recommend parking them across Hwy 55 in the overflow trailer parking at Wellington Snow Park across the street to the west and south of Cougar Mountain Lodge. In the winter, there is enough room for about 4 trucks at the cabin. The cabin is accessible year-round and is located about 3/4 of a mile due east of Cougar Mountain Lodge Restaurant (located on state highway 55). In the winter time, tire chains are recommended to make it up the very last section of the driveway. Alternatively, there's parking at the bottom of the driveway with a 50 yard walk up to the cabin, if you forgot your winter tire chains (late November-March). Again, chains and Four Wheel Drive are required in the winter.

Smith's Ferry's unique micro-climate is ideally suited for the outdoor enthusiast, beautiful in the spring summer and fall, and blanketed in powdery snow in the winter. You'll be able to experience the many outdoor activities - swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, snowmobiling, boating, skiing, and more. Unlike most areas of the US, this comes with thousands of public acres of tree-covered mountains and snow-capped peaks.

8 people max; which includes day guests.
1 King Bed (2 adults)
2 Queen Beds (4 adults)
2 Twin Beds (2 adults)

Pet friendly for 1 small pet and with approval prior to booking and additional pet fee.

Had Everything We Could Want

Date of Stay:

“Everything was wonderful! I can’t think of anything that was of concern!! Fantastic cabin. Just what we were hoping for! We have stayed in many cabins and this was the best! We usually stay in Garden Valley, but may now change permanently. Thank you so much!!!”

Loved all the trees

Date of Stay:

The house felt huge! Large master bedroom, kitchen, and family room/dining room. We loved all the trees surrounding the property. It made us feel like we were camping but in a beautiful house. The house had everything we needed. The house was close to the river but it would have been a very long walk. We had a wonderful time and plan to stay in this house in the future!

Gorgeous Home!

Date of Stay:

Very reasonably priced. Great amenities. Very spacious. Gorgeous home.

Will be back for sure!

Date of Stay:

We loved the open common areas and kitchen. The master bedroom was huge and very nice for us and our little one to share. The other 2 bedrooms are fairly spacious and as a whole it was a very comfortable space. Every question or concern I had was addressed promptly as well which was a relief. We went in February and the driveway made a great sledding track. I would stay here again in the future.

Great Place to Stay!

Date of Stay:

Great place to stay. All bedrooms are on suite bath rooms. No sharing !! Beds are comfy. Driveway is steep for winter stays but we managed just fine. Loved our stay!

Large Kitchen and Gathering Areas

Date of Stay:

It was a very nice, clean place with a large kitchen, dining, and living area. Great for bigger groups as far as comfortability.

This House was Beautiful

Date of Stay:

The house is beautiful and has so much space! With 8 adults we had plenty of room. The kitchen is one of the most well stocked ones I have seen in an airbnb and having the grill was an added bonus. It is such a peaceful setting and we had a wonderful weekend with family. I wouldn't be surprised if we stay again!

Beautiful and Spacious

Date of Stay:

Beautiful spacious relaxing home in a picturesque, quiet location at Smiths Ferry. Perfect distance between river options for kayakers. Plenty of room to spread out. Sparkling clean. Great communication. Peaceful and private. Modern and well thought out amenities. Verizon cell service was reliable and though the in-house wifi was slow, hot spotting my cell allowed me to work remotely from the property perfectly well. Would stay again.

Perfect Spot

Date of Stay:

Perfect spot! Quite, easy to find, very clean and organized. Plenty room for larger group.

Astounded by the Beauty

Date of Stay:

We were astounded at the beauty of the area and the luxurious home. This beautiful house was custom built with a keen eye for details and quality. The home was thoughtfully appointed and very comfortable. And it was extremely clean! That's not a easy thing to do in the mountains. The Frost Cabins management is doing a great job in maintaining the property and keeping it stocked nicely with the essentials. We loved our time here and hope to return!

Beautiful, Modern Home

Date of Stay:

“Beautiful modern home and setting amongst the pines. If you’re considering Smith’s Ferry as an alternative to Cascade or Donnelly, I highly recommend. Only walking distance down hill to Payette River. Cascade is only 17mi up the road, easy access to lots of options for outdoor fun.”

Perfect For A Get Away!

Date of Stay:

“The lodge was the perfect get away for my family and I. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful kitchen, comfy beds and excellent location. We didn’t leave the cabin the entire stay. We did a puzzle, listened to music and played games. Johnathan was a great host and was very responsive to our questions. I highly recommend Twin Pines.”

Great place to relax and unwind

Date of Stay:

Our stay at Twin Pines was fabulous! The pellet stove was warming the house upon our arrival. The details are the most important part of any trip and Frost Cabins nailed it. We were fortunate to be the first ever guests in the Twin Pines home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. To the owners of the home, thanks for building and sharing such an awesome place to relax and unwind!

Best sled trip ever!

Date of Stay:

A group of friends travel to Idaho each winter for our annual snowmobile getaway. We LOVED this place! It was our 5th time staying at a vacation rental and it was the best experience we’ve ever had, by far. Frost Management was very responsive to our questions, the home was superb, and the location could not have been better. We were able to ride from the front door to endless epic territory and trails. When we didn’t stay in and eat in the amazing kitchen (it’s got everything you’d ever need- we figured a chef must own this home), we are out at The Cougar Mountain Lodge Restaurant, which is 2 minutes away. The atmosphere was laid back and the food was outstanding. We ate in Cascade one night and were pleasantly surprised at how upscale the dining was at Remingtons (5 stars). All around, amazing trip. We will be back!
